Reviews
This book is a must-have for Lost fans, and it is very inexpensive for the value of the product. If you already own the official Lost Magazine issues, then there is really nothing new in this book - everything was taken directly from the magazine. But for those who did not get the Lost Magazine, this is a great substitute because it contains the best articles from the magazine. As you would expect, "Lost: Messages From the Island" contains interviews with all the main cast members, including Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O'Quinn, Jorge Garcia, and Josh Halloway. There is also a foreword by writers/showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. But we also get to hear from the Director of Photography, a couple of episode directors, and a production designer. The book features a ton of images, including official production photos, candid shots from the set, storyboards, and art department drawings. It should be noted that this book covers only Seasons 1 and 2 of the show, so it does not represent the complete series. For a more complete (and more expensive) book on all things Lost, try this: Lost EncyclopediaOverall, this book looks like it's worth a lot more than it is actually being sold for. I was very surprised at how high-quality is was when it arrived. The articles are thoughtful and give interesting insight into the making of the show. I've uploaded some pictures in the customer images section, so be sure to take a look.
